Our Facility Services Division offers scheduled maintenance designed to prevent equipment breakdown and reduce unplanned downtime by restoring equipment to like-new condition.
WHAT THIS JOB DOES - IN A NUTSHELL:
The Vendor Sourcing Specialist will research, recruit, and vet third-party vendors of various trades (electrical, plumbing, handyman, etc.) for completion of work nationwide. You are not selling a product, you are finding new vendors and determining if they might fit well with our network. We are offering these vendors a new source of business through being part of our national network. Below are basic steps of the process:
Determine areas of the country in which we need new vendors, then conduct internet research to find vendors to contact.
Make calls, explain why you’re calling, and have a conversation to see if he or she might be a good fit for our network.
Offer an invitation to join our network to those you feel would be a good addition to our large group of contractors around the country.
There may be some negotiation involved with fees and such.
Once the deal is done, conduct an organized onboarding process ensuring all required documentation is received and filed.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO THIS JOB WELL:
This job could be right for you if you are very comfortable making calls and being on the telephone, if you aren’t afraid of calling people you don’t know, and you enjoy process-oriented work. Speaking English clearly and proper grammar is important. You need an understanding of how to “mine information” from the internet; we can teach you more tips. Being thorough and accurate when vetting and setting up contractors in our system is critical, so organization and attention to detail are very important. If you think you may be interested in sales, this could be a good starting point, but there are several other career paths this job could offer you in our organization in the future.
