PdM Field Technician 

Due to our continued growth, SEAM Group is looking for a PdM Field Technician to join our team!

If you live in the Seattle area, have a solid PdM technology background, and enjoy delivering superior Thermography services, this could be the job for you!

Location: Seattle, WA
PdM Field Technician duties include:
  • using infrared and visual cameras to inspect and inventory electrical and mechanical equipment;

  • using ViewPoint field software to record inspection information;

  • opening electrical equipment to expose live energized connections;

  • taking current measurements from equipment mains and components to trend and investigate thermal anomalies;

  • working safely following all Seam Group and client safety policies;

  • occasional regional travel to service other clients;

  • occasional management of hired electrical contractors; and

  • performing any other duties and projects as assigned.

 The best qualified candidates will have the following:
  • general mechanical aptitude and experience with electrical systems;

  • understanding of OSHA and NFPA standards and practices

  • High School Diploma or equivalent program completion is required;

  • Level 1 or higher Thermography certificate (preferred);

  • Level 1 or higher Ultrasound certificate (preferred);

  • a strong safety orientation as well as being willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment while on the job (for your own protection!);

  • basic to intermediate computer skills and the ability to use a tablet;

  • good verbal and written communication skills;

  • strong time management and workload organization skills with attention to schedules and deadlines;

  • the ability to climb ladders on equipment and work at heights of up to 30 feet;

  • the ability to lift up to 50 pounds (electrical panel doors can be very heavy), reach above your head and below your knees, and crawl on your hands and knees occasionally;

  • the ability and willingness to follow detailed and defined guidelines; and

  • the personal maturity and dedication to show up anywhere on time and ready to roll!

We provide our field techs with all the necessary tools and protective equipment, after all, safety is our business!  A valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record are required. Criminal background checks and drug screening are also part of our hiring process.
